One of our department members, 2. lt. Mgr. Ján DAŇO has taken part in the Language standards and assessment seminar, that was facilitated by the Partner Language Training Centre Europe in the German city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The seminar was held in the period between 8th July and 19th July. Partners from Columbia, Ukraine, Latvia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Poland and Iraq have also taken part in this seminar. During the introductory part of the seminar a general introduction of every participating country has been made, which was followed by a description of the language teaching and testing program of every participating country. A major focus of the two week-long seminar has been on the STANAG 6001 descriptors across levels 1 to 3, the testing process during the teaching process and testing in accordance to the STANAG 6001 standard. The seminar also provided information and practical skills regarding the creation of different types of tests. At the end of the seminar, every participant has created a list of recommendations for their country’s own language teaching program which has been presented to participating countries during the last day of the seminar.
