Department of Social Sciences and Languages said goodbye to the American CAT team from Civil Affairs, led by Captain Travis Junkins, which cooperated with the Department during entire academic year on conversational exercises for students and creation of authentic English language teaching materials.

Vice-rector for science, Assoc. Prof. Boris Ďurkech, thanked them for their work on behalf of the Academy provided them with small souvenirs and highlighted their contribution to the cadets, who had an opportunity to listen and practice communication skills in conversations with native speakers. At the same time, he pointed that cadets got a chance to be inspired by their life experience and military knowledge and to compare life in the army in Slovakia and in the USA.

New US team of 4 soldiers led by Captain John McLaughlin will continue in the cooperation with our Armed Forces Academy. The new team operated in Slovakia already in 2021 and thus has rich experience.

We look forward to further civil-military cooperation and for streamlining and intensifying the teaching of English language at the Armed Forces Academy.
