During the last two weeks of June (June 17 - 28, 2024), Comprehensive Operations Planning Course was organized by International Courses Department (ICD). The course was attended by 33 officers, including 1 from Italy, 4 from Ukraine, 25 from Slovak Armed Forces and 3 from NFIU. The course was under the gesture of ICD, and 12 SMEs from Slovak Armed Forces, Romania, Germany and Great Britain shared their knowledge and expertise with the students as well. Representative of the RA (requirement authority) from NATO SHAPE came to evaluate the quality of the course from the point of its relevance and correct execution, and as a result, to confirm the certification of this course. This pilot course was set up so that it reflects the requirements of the Slovak Armed Forces as well as NATO on the need for officer training to perform tasks in NATO HQ structures and international operational headquarters.
The course was conducted within multi domain operations and in the spirit of a comprehensive approach with an emphasis on planning operations at the operational level; fulfilling the outcomes of the planning process from the military-strategic level. The key person of the course was the rector of Armed Forces Academy of general Milan Rastislav Stefanik, who acted in the position of JFC Commander.
The importance of the course was also enhanced by the visit of important guests, namely the Commander of the Land Forces of Slovak Armed Forces, Major General Martin Stoklasa and the DCOS PLANS GS Armed Forces Slovakia, Brigadier General Slavomir Vercimak.
