Academic graduation ceremony and military parade of graduates of the Armed Forces Academy of gen. M. R. Štefánik (AFA) took place on Friday, July 8th, 2022 on the premises of the academy after a four-year break. Sixty-one graduates of master's studies in the four study programs Security and Defense of the State, Electronic Weapon Systems, Military Communication and Information Systems, and Weapon Systems, Weapons and Their Parts, were promoted to the first officer rank of lieutenant.

The head representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, Minister Jaroslav Naď, General Director of HR department Martin Jakál and commander of the Strategic Crisis Management Center of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic BG Martin Remeš took place. Members and representatives of the local government were also present, and the representatives of the spiritual service in the armed forces, bishop, military ordinary Mons. František Rábek and the general spiritual head of the Ecumenical Pastoral Service COL Viktor Sabo. Military diplomats accredited in the Slovak Republic also accepted the invitation.

At the beginning, Minister Jaroslav Naď spoke to the new lieutenants, where he explained the importance of that day in their professional career.  He appreciated that during their studies, these graduates experienced first-hand what service to the country means, since in addition to fulfilling their study obligations, they were deployed in domestic crisis management operations during the coronavirus pandemics, and after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, they were involved in operations on the Slovak-Ukrainian border for the purpose of help refugees.

During the ceremonial address, the rector of the academy thanked the scientific-pedagogical cadres, commanders, and other AFA employees who participated in education and training.

The best student of the military program, 2LT Jakub Čorba, graduate of the Military Communication and Information Systems study program was awarded by the gift from the Minister of Defense for the best results during whole university studies.

The graduation ceremony culminated by handing over the diplomas from the hands of the rector.

The best graduate in the academic year 2021/2022 was 2LT Terézia Dubovcová, whom the rector awarded with the academic insignia - a sword, a symbol of the military character of the AFA.
