From 11–15 May 2026, students had the opportunity during their English language classes to welcome a guest lecturer, Mgr. Marta Grygier from the Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Academy in Wrocław. During her lecture and workshop, she focused on the current and socially significant topics of racism and immigration, actively engaging students in discussions and various interactive activities.
The students appreciated not only the professional content of the workshop, but also the pleasant atmosphere and the lecturer’s open and friendly approach. Private First Class Adam Kučerák stated: “The whole lesson was positive from the very beginning, and the lecturer was very kind. She had prepared an excellent presentation from which we learned many new things about Poland and the Polish Armed Forces. At the end of the lesson, we had a competitive quiz based on the presentation. The best participants received a reward.”
Private First Class Matúš Králik also shared a positive evaluation: “From the start, the lecturer conducted the class in an interesting and interactive way, as she tried to involve all students. We learned new information about the culture and functioning of the Polish Armed Forces. The only downside was that the lesson was a bit too short. At the end of the class, we also recommended several restaurants and cafés in and around Liptovský Mikuláš to the lecturer.”
The lecturer’s visit was a valuable experience for the students, allowing them not only to improve their language competencies, but also to gain new insights into cultural and social topics in an international context.
The administrative coordination of the visit was primarily handled by Mgr. Lenka Stromková, while organizational support was also provided by 2nd Lieutenant Mgr. Barbora Hurtuková, PhD.
