From 20 to 22 May 2026, LT Mgr. Michaela Rázusová participated in the international conference Defence & Strategy 2026, held in Prague. The conference, whose main theme was “Adapting to a Changing World,” focused on current issues in defence, security, strategic studies, and the development of the international security environment.
The conference programme provided a platform for expert discussion on NATO adaptation, hybrid threats, strategic resilience, the changing character of war, defence technologies, cyber and information operations, as well as challenges related to European and transatlantic security. The programme also included practically oriented activities aimed at supporting strategic thinking and decision-making, including the strategic cyber game CHESS and a tabletop wargame conducted by VR Group.
As part of Panel VI: NATO and the Evolving Security Environment, LT Mgr. Michaela Rázusová presented a professional paper entitled “PMESII Analysis of the 2026 Israel-Iran-US Crisis and its Implications for the European Union and NATO.” The paper focused on analysing the crisis between Israel, Iran, and the United States of America through the PMESII framework, which enables the assessment of the security environment across political, military, economic, social, informational, and infrastructural dimensions. In her presentation, she highlighted the potential implications of regional crises for the European Union and NATO, particularly in the areas of Alliance unity, strategic stability, energy and infrastructure security, the protection of critical supply chains, and strategic communication.
Participation in the conference represented an important opportunity to present research outputs in an international academic and professional environment, while also supporting the connection between scientific knowledge and the needs of security and defence practice. The conference outputs will be published in the professional journals Vojenské rozhledy and Obrana a strategie.
