On June 9th to 11th, 2026, already the third workshop focused on course development was held at the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik (SVK AFA).
The workshop was organized by representatives of the U.S. Institute for Security Governance and members of the National Guard Indiana and National Guard Arizona. In addition to the employees of the Professional Military Education Center of SVK AFA, representatives of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic also participated in the event on the Slovak side.
The overall goal of the project is development of comprehensive educational concept for the course focused on F-16 sustainment processes and preparation of the conditions for its successful implementation in the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. For three days, the participants focused on several key areas, including:
validation of the Slovak Air Force sustainment processes updates and supporting development of a final action,
rehearse 1-3 modules of the course in the syndicate room, enabling future Slovak instructors to demonstrate learning material mastery,
assessment of the clarity, sequencing and accuracy of the course content, including Slovak specific processes, terminology and workflows,
presentation and assessment of possible scenarios or case studies that will be used as teaching material,
presentation of the course with the determination of responsibility for individual modules and other activities associated with the organization of the course, the pilot version of which will take place in September 2026.
The results of the workshop represent another significant step in the preparation of professional training for personnel ensuring the operation and sustainment of F-16 aircraft in the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
